What to expect at next week’s Samsung Unpacked
Samsung’s next Unpacked event will take place on Wednesday 10 July in Paris. A lot of new products are expected, from upgrades to familiar devices to entirely new ones. Here are a few teases from the grapevine.
Foldables and flipables
It is about a ring that will, among other things, track your heart rate, movement and breathing while you sleep. Presumably, the ring will also have a system to detect fertility. You will be able to connect the device to your smartphone, but also link it to your smartwatch for even more accurate data.
The latest versions of Samsung’ s foldable smartphones are also expected next week. It’s about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The former is a device that you can unfold sideways to have a very large tablet-like screen. The latter, in turn, can be folded down so that the device is much more compact to store. Possibly both smartphones will also get additional versions, such as a more luxurious Ultra model or a more compact Slim model.
For the Galaxy Z Flip 6 you can expect a larger battery (4,000mAh) and a better main camera (50MP).
Wearables
At Samsung Unpacked, most will be looking forward to the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Ring. Samsung already teased that all-new product at the event in January and shared more information a month later.
Watch 7
The Samsung Galaxy Watch is also undoubtedly getting a new version. It will be the Watch 7. Not much is known about either model yet. Most likely – it is 2024, after all – they will be smartwatches with a lot of AI features. These would help track sleep and movement.
