Watch how running SAP on Azure can deliver real IT cost savings
As the ability to deploy and flex computing power has become increasingly critical for many organisations, it’s created challenges for running mission-critical workloads. To address the options for IT leaders, Microsoft has created an on-demand webinar to detail the technical and business benefits from its expanded support for running mission-critical SAP workloads on Azure.
In the case of SAP workloads, the launch of HANA S/4 in particular has radically altered customers’ approaches to running systems.
The 67-minute Microsoft webinar covers examples of six SAP different workloads in six different industry verticals, including development and testing for global audit, production for a chemicals company, disaster recovery in the logistics sector and training systems for a pharmaceutical client.
The webinar technical content is co-presented by Matt Ordish, senior director for SAP solution strategy at Microsoft, and Juergen Thomas, principal programme manager lead with Microsoft. In each scenario, they outline the value to the customer, which often results in significant cost savings. Zespri International of New Zealand reduced its IT spending by $1 million from moving business-critical SAP systems to Azure.
The webinar closes with a Q&A segment from the live event, adding an extra layer of customer perspective for subsequent viewers.
The webinar also includes additional resources such as: material outlining why Microsoft Azure is the best suited cloud platform for SAP workloads; TechNet guidance and resources about SAP on Azure. Other links take viewers to a first-hand look at standing up an SAP dev/test environment in Azure, as well as details on license mobility when putting Microsoft workloads onto Azure.
