Liberty Global has announced that UPC Ireland CEO Dana Strong (pictured) will become the chief operating officer of Virgin Media on completion of parent company Liberty Global’s acquisition of Virgin Media in the coming days. Strong will continue to be involved in UPC Ireland as chairman.

Strong will be succeeded in Ireland by Magnus Ternsjö. Since 2009, Mr. Ternsjö has been Managing Director of Liberty Global’s Central European Direct to Home (DTH) satellite television business – UPC DTH S.a.r.l. located in Luxembourg – covering Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.
