TechFire webinar to explore where telecoms fit in hybrid workplace
The TechFire webinar series returns on 16 November in association with IP Telecom asking the burning question ‘Should companies put telecoms at the centre of their business’?
As companies adopt a hybrid working model in the post-pandemic continued success is decided by consistency of service regardless of whether the employee is based at home, in the office or a mix of both. It’s therefore essential that there be no discernable difference in user or customer experience, regardless of location. Such continuity is reliant on a strong telecoms backbone, so does that mean businesses need to look at telecoms today the way they did about office space only a few years ago?
“Home working was on the way to becoming the norm long before the pandemic,” says TechCentral.ie editor Niall Kitson, “but the issue wasn’t continuity of service over the long term, it was about having a minimum viable service across whatever ISP was available. With hybrid and remote work that notion has gone out the window and the challenge is not just choosing the right provider for one employee, it’s about choosing one that can deliver the same quality across the entire business, regardless of where the work is being done. That’s a challenge a lot of companies are struggling with.”
Joining Niall Kitson will be Dermot Frost, network operations centre manager at IP Telecom, and Adrian Ward, IT support manager for Portwest.
