Vodafone is now offering the BlackBerry handheld e-mail device to corporate customers for a monthly subscription starting at €200. Subscribers will use the triband BlackBerry 7230 to use the service. The device includes a customised user-interface using Vodafone Live iconography to make the device easier to use. The pricing structure for the BlackBerry 7230ranges from €200 to €250 per unit.
Individual user’s licences are included free of charge. Monthly usage bundles range from €30 to €50 and include 3Mbyte of data usage which equates to approximately 2000 e-mails per month. In addition to this, Vodafone Ireland is offering a number of software installation packages tailored to meet individual customer needs.
BlackBerry from Vodafone is initially being aimed at the corporate business market with BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Existing and new Vodafone customers can now choose to use BlackBerry alongside their standard mobile phone or alternatively use the BlackBerry handheld as their sole device for both voice and data.
