Samsung shows Fan Edition series has room to move with Galaxy Watch

Samsung is adding a version of the Galaxy Watch to its Fan Edition (FE) line, where user feedback is used to develop an incremental improvement of existing features without giving anything away about future generations.

Since Samsung launched the very first Galaxy Watch in 2018, the company has released quite a few products in this space. These include standard models, as well as slightly more robust Active variants. In addition, there are also ‘Pro’ or ‘Classic’ versions, which use a different material as a casing.

With the first Galaxy Watch FE, Samsung is further expanding its range of smartwatches, aiming to “make health and fitness monitoring available to as many people as possible worldwide”. In doing so, it wants to “help them improve their health and achieve goals”.

What to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE

• Tips: The smartwatch will send – if you want – personalised and actionable tips 24 hours a day.
• Sleep: Sleep patterns are monitored to provide sleep coaching.
• Heart rate: Abnormalities such as abnormally high or low heart rates, irregular heart rhythm notification (IHRN) and atrial fibrillation (Afib) are all noted.
• Health: You can also monitor blood pressure and ECG.
• Running: The Watch FE features 100 different workouts, each time tracking your progress. Thanks to Personalized Heart Rate Zone, you can set personalised goals. Advanced running analysis also helps you run better and more efficiently while also avoiding injuries.
• Goals: Depending on your health goals, you will be shown personalised and motivational messages.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE will be available worldwide during the summer. As a colour, you can choose between black, pink gold and silver, while the strap is decorated with blue and orange stitching as standard. However, you can easily change the watch band by another one.

Nothing has been announced about the price of the Watch FE for now. However, we can assume that the device will be cheaper than Samsung’s other smartwatches.
