Four fifths (80%) of Irish business professionals now believe that AI will be the most disruptive technology that will “flip” the world on its head, up from 68% in 2023. This disruption however, is perceived as being largely positive with Irish business professionals believing AI can have real productivity gains and advance their careers. That’s according to research from 3Gem conducted on behalf of Samsung.

The survey of 350 business professionals found that of those more likely to view AI as having a positive impact on their work lives, more than half (51%) were excited about how AI will improve or enhance their work life by reducing routine and mundane tasks.

Virtually all (98%) respondents agreed that AI could make their work easier – particularly when it comes to automating administrative, routine and mundane tasks (63%) such as managing calendars, alerts and meeting notes; improving data analysis/ insights (61%) and providing topline notes and overviews of complicated texts; and streamlining communication (59%) by synopsising reports, articles and generating e-mail responses.

Annika Bizon, head of MX for Samsung Ireland and head of marketing & omnichannel for Samsung UK & Ireland said: “Earlier this month at the Samsung Develop Conference for 2024, we reaffirmed our commitment to ‘AI for All,’ and a focus on personalised AI solutions that enhance daily life while protecting privacy through advanced on-device capabilities and cloud technology… Our goal at Samsung is to enable our devices with AI capabilities like Note Assist, Transcript Assist and Live Translate that remove the burdensome tasks from the lives of our users.

With the rollout of Galaxy AI, Samsung introduced several AI-enabled features to enhance the lives of consumers. Over half of Irish managers felt that their work productivity would improve a lot by using AI features such as Note Assist (55%), Transcript Assist (54%), Chat Assist (54%), and Interpreter & Live Translate (52%), which are all available on Galaxy Z Series devices.
