Pinnacle Studio MovieBox USB

Life

Video editing is a great way to make sure precious memories are kept and shared, but getting video on to computers can be a hassle. The Pinnacle Studio MovieBox USB simplifies the process.

The front has sockets for composite audio and video (the red, white and yellow plugs), S-video and a full-size Firewire socket. There are no outputs, so it is not possible to play the video back to record it to video tape, unlike the more expensive MovieBox Plus. The Firewire socket can be used for output, however, if you have a suitable camcorder.

MovieBox comes with Pinnacle Studio 10, which is also used for capturing video. Movies can be exported in a variety of formats for copying to DVD or CD.

This is a good way to capture video from an analogue source, and at just €35 more than a copy of Studio 10, it is good value.

Verdict 4 stars
An effective and good value set for importing, editing and copying video.

€133
