LinkedIn announced the addition of 200 jobs in Dublin. The new roles will be in sales & sales support, customer operations, and engineering with a focus on natural language processing and machine learning.

Established in Ireland in 2010 with just three employees, LinkedIn has since grown to become one of Ireland’s leading technology employers. Today 1,000 employees work across all product lines and support over 50 markets, from the UK to as far as Poland, Turkey and South Africa.

“At LinkedIn, we’re continuing to invest in the people and infrastructure required to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce,” said Jeff Weiner, CEO LinkedIn. “Ireland has proven to be a very strategic location for us to headquarter our EMEA operations, and we look forward to growing our footprint in Ireland by expanding our already 1,000-person team with another 200 employees.”

The announcement comes ahead of the completion of LinkedIn’s EMEA HQ at Wilton Place, with construction set to finish in 2017.

Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland, said: “The availability of talent is the key differentiator for locations to win foreign direct investment. LinkedIn’s ability to scale its EMEA headquarters in Ireland at such an impressive rate in recent years is a great endorsement of the talented workforce available to innovative global companies.  Dublin’s reputation internationally as a technology and internet hub is greatly strengthened by LinkedIn’s presence here.”
