InterSystems has launched two new private cloud locations, increasing its hosted and cloud capabilities to customers across Ireland and the rest of the EU.

The decision was driven by a recent partnership with the Irish Health Service Executive (HSE). The service was looking to implement an electronic patient record (EPR) and, like many other healthcare organisations, preferred to host its sensitive data away from the public cloud in a secure private cloud instead.

Each cloud location offers high availability from the ground up. InterSystems cloud solutions are deployed across both locations so that, in the event of an incident or disaster, solutions can continue to operate from an alternative location with zero risk of data loss. All solutions also come with extensive security controls, including network and application firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, reputation protection, and in-depth monitoring across the end-to-end service.

InterSystems solutions are also available on private cloud instances in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Chile, and the USA – as well as most major public cloud providers around the world.

Eugene Rudman, director of managed services at InterSystems, said: “The high level of protection we offer not only to health services but also government services, other public sector bodies, and private enterprises should make our secure cloud capability highly attractive to a wide range of organisations across the EU.”

“In the past, such organisations would have to operate the solution themselves, whether on premise or in the cloud”, added Rudman. “Now, we provide it as a service, they don’t have to worry, we take responsibility for everything. They can just focus on getting value from the software, safe in the knowledge that it will be secure, available, and performing well.”
