HPE’s Whitman to step down as CEO
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) chief executive officer Meg Whitman is to step down, she announced via an earnings call.
Whitman’s 6-year tenure saw the company being split between the enterprise and print, consumer and device divisions.
Although expected to retain a seat on the board, unlike her predecessors, Whitman will be succeeded by current HPE president, Antonio Neri.
Shares fell somewhat when the news emerged, reported by the likes of the Financial Times and Reuters.
Neri is a computer engineer who has worked in all aspects of HPE’s business.
