International tech conferences have been around for decades. They bring tech professionals together to experience a unique set of speakers, conversations, and networking opportunities, but that does mean they’re limited to specific people in certain roles or areas within the technology space. Attendees gain useful insight, but it’s siloed from what other employees are learning elsewhere.

This is where ISACA’s Digital Trust World Europe Conference differs from the wider conference landscape. It unites a diverse global community of professionals who work across different domains – from HR and marketing to cyber and auditing – to create more holistic digital trust professionals.

All professionals interested in creating a more secure digital ecosystem can benefit from Digital Trust World Europe in Dublin from 17-19 October. Anyone who is focused on creating customer trust through technology, this conference is one for you.

Join the brightest minds in business and technology

IISACA defines digital trust as the confidence in the integrity of the relationship, interactions and transactions among providers and consumers within an associated digital ecosystem.

Research carried out by ISACA shows 94% of IT and business professionals in Europe believe digital trust is important to their organisation, yet only 7% are completely confident in the digital trustworthiness in their organisation. Businesses clearly need to do more to establish digital trust amongst their key stakeholders.

Conference attendees will be treated to an opening session from Rachel Botsman, a leading global trust expert who challenges the way people think about trust and related subjects, including power, influence, truth, and beliefs.

In a business world that’s increasingly reliant on technology and innovation, organisations need to ensure employees and consumers trust the solutions they’re implementing. Botsman will share how businesses can get teams to be innovative with trust embedded in their policies from the offset.

Christopher Wylie will also share timely insights. Wylie is a data consultant widely known for his work uncovering the Facebook-Cambridge Analytica scandal and exposing their misuse of personal data. So, he knows a thing or two about how businesses should establish trust in the data they rely on to make decisions. He’ll share his advice for other businesses, so they avoid getting caught up in scandals on a global stage.

Learn the tools to become a digital trust champion

Beyond the sessions from Botsman and Wylie, conference attendees can hear from global business and technology professionals on their own experiences related to digital trust.

Research suggests that a fifth of analysed breaches in 2022 were caused by compromised third parties. All businesses have a supply chain and must ensure all third parties they engage with have robust cybersecurity practices and digital trust policies. One of the sessions at the conference will give attendees insight into how businesses can recognise the risks associated with any supply chain, how they can address these risks, and why third party risk management is essential to success.

ChatGPT, the metaverse, zero trust, and generative AI are just some of the technology innovations businesses are exploring. They all come with their benefits, but they also bring risks that need to be assessed accordingly.

ISACA´s Digital Trust World Europe Conference provides a platform to address these complexities by emphasising the importance of digital trust. Meanwhile, the ever-evolving cyber workspace, marked by an ongoing skills gap with 3 million global positions yet to be filled, is also in focus. Those who are already employed find themselves quickly adapting to new technologies and their role requirements. Additionally, a ChatGPT Masterclass gives participants the opportunity to dive deep into AI, risk, and security considerations, while other conference sessions delve into topics like AI, cybersecurity risks, deep learning, auditing in generative AI, and ensuring trustworthy AI for automated decision-making. This holistic experience equips attendees to navigate emerging tech landscapes while fostering digital trust and preparing for the future of work.

Hear from international policymakers

Closing the skills gap isn’t just down to businesses themselves. Influential bodies and people across policy are responsible for changing the way businesses hire. Maria Walsh MEP will join ISACA’s Digital Trust Europe Conference to inform attendees of the importance of a skilled workforce for Europe’s Digital Decade.

She’ll be joined by Director of Aston University’s Cybersecurity Innovation Centre, Vladlena Benson, and Mathieu Gorge, CEO and founder of Vigitrust, a risk management organisation helping clients around the world maintain compliance. Between them they’ll discuss Europe’s plans to address the digital skills gap and cover why higher education has an important role in this race.

Cybersecurity challenges are not unique to Europe. Cybersecurity is being prioritised internationally, too, as attendees will hear from NATO Strategic Communications Specialist Enrique Perez de Tena. Beyond looking at how the Cyberspace Command operates; de Tena will share why it’s important to have a range of people with different skills sets collaborating and cooperating on cybersecurity to create more holistic cyber protection.

Build valuable relationships

Additionally, Digital Trust World Europe is a chance to network with global technology and business professionals and establish long-term relationships to help businesses grow.

When asked what he’s most looking forward to, Chris Dimitriadis, chief global strategy officer at ISACA, said he wants to use this as an opportunity to broaden his network with a global community, exchange ideas for creating new trust products and services, and hear the most recent developments across all digital trust domains.

ISACA’s research shows businesses recognise the importance of digital trust but haven’t quite established it within their organisation. Digital Trust World Europe is the right starting point and will equip professionals with the relevant tools on their journey to making digital trust the industry standard.
