GMC Utilities has a range of projects throughout Ireland and the UK, including major utility (water, wastewater, gas, electricity and telecom) networks, transport infrastructure and renewable energy.

Future Planet was founded in Ireland in 2021 by sustainability and supply chain experts Donal Daly and Ingrid De Doncker. The company’s software uses artificial intelligence to inform sustainability strategy, implement transition plans, manage ESG data and emissions, and automate reporting for regulatory compliance.

Debbie Power, chief commercial officer at Future Planet, said: “Our aim is to make it easy for them [GMC Utilities] to meet their compliance obligations while centralising their ESG data. The Future Planet platform makes it simple for everyone to collaborate and for the business to build and execute a clear roadmap that will help them achieve their sustainability targets.”

Elaine Casey, environmental and sustainability manager at GMC Utilities Group, added: “At GMC Utilities, our purpose is to build Ireland’s infrastructure for a healthier and greener future. We are committed to carrying out all our works in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. This partnership with Future Planet marks a significant step in our ESG journey. We are excited to have them onboard to assist us in conducting a double materiality assessment, which will underpin our ESG Strategy. The platform itself will play a central role in collecting and managing our ESG data, and supporting our disclosure requirements.”
