Fujitsu creates 192 jobs in Northern Ireland
Fujitsu has announced it has created 192 new jobs in Derry, Northern Ireland.
The jobs – 177 full-time positions and 15 apprenticeships – will include technical and software orientated roles, as well as business support roles in finance, procurement, HR and administration.
Fujitsu is supporting the job creation with £12 million over the next three years, while Invest Northern Ireland will provide over £990,000 of funding.
Fujitsu will use the investment to set up a new Business Services Centre at its existing Timber Quay site. The addition of the new roles will iincrease the total number of employees in Northern Ireland to over 1,000 across four locations in Derry, Antrim and Belfast.
Greg McDaid, client managing director of Northern Ireland at Fujitsu, said: “This Business Services Centre will now form an important part of our overall strategy to achieve business growth in this region and the choice of Timber Quay is a reflection on the highly skilled and motivated workforce as well as the excellent telecommunications infrastructure that we know exist here.”
Recruitment of the new jobs will begin in the New Year.
