The FlexPod from NetApp is an integrated data centre system for specific workloads, built on VMware, Cisco and NetApp technology.

The FlexPod is a pretested data centre solution built on a flexible, scalable, shared infrastructure from Cisco Unified Computing System servers and Cisco Nexus switches, and NetApp unified storage systems running Data ONTAP, say the makers. It is described as having "a pre-sized, validated, standardised data centre architecture design."

The FlexPod components are integrated and standardised to help eliminate estimation and guesswork, achieving timely, repeatable, consistent deployments. It has been optimised with a variety of mixed application workloads and design configurations in various environments such as virtual desktop infrastructure and secure multi-tenancy environments.
