Farm Fayre launches livestock sales platform
AgTech company Farm Fayre has unveiled its sales platform designed to transform the way Irish farmers buy and sell livestock. The platform offers farmers a safe, convenient, transparent, and sustainable ecosystem for the sale and purchase of livestock.
The announcement comes ahead of next week’s National Ploughing Championships where Farm Fayre will be exhibiting at the Enterprise Ireland Innovation area alongside 50 companies.
Through the platform, sellers list their livestock on the platform along with all essential details, high-quality images and videos. This allows buyers to make fully informed decisions. Sellers set their own pricing levels, with all bids visible in real time.
Kevin O’Connor, chief executive officer and co-founder, Farm Fayre, said: “Farmers can buy or sell in minutes, right from their field. With Farm Fayre, they can be confident that their funds and livestock are always safe, and that the livestock will be collected and delivered at their convenience.
“At Farm Fayre we are setting the gold standard in safety, convenience, transparency, sustainability, and biosecurity, effectively eliminating the risks and frictions previously associated with dealing with unknown parties.”
Farm Fayre completed the 2022 AgTechUCD Agccelerator programme run by the AgTechUCD Innovation Centre at UCD Lyons Farm. The 12-week hybrid programme is for early stage start-ups in the agtech, agri-food, equine and veterinary sectors. The programme, which restarts in mid-October, is currently open for applications.
O’Connor continued: “I highly recommend this programme to any early-stage AgTech related venture, with limited time and resources. It’s a must do.”
