Ergo has become the first indigenous Irish IT services company to achieve Microsoft’s Azure VMware solution advanced specialisation. The company has shown skill, extensive experience and success in planning and deploying Azure VMware Solution for customers.

This is an indicator of how far Ergo has come since acquiring Asystec in January 2022, a leading VMware Principal Partner with multinational VMware clients that include Boston Scientific and Baillie Gifford.

Merging Ergo’s Microsoft Azure practice with VMware opens the door for a global customer base to explore new propositions that will accelerate hybrid cloud journeys. Companies with a VMware footprint in their data centres can now extend their capabilities to the Azure cloud for a range of use cases, including DR (Disaster Recovery), where the VMware instance in the data centre is mirrored in the Azure cloud.

Lorne Chedzey, chief technology officer, Ergo, said: “Microsoft and VMware are two leaders of enterprise IT.  Ergo can now provide customers with a single control plane between their VMware on-premises and Azure estate, increasing scalability, reducing complexity, and ensuring operational efficiency.”

“The VMware specialisation reflects the deep skills of Ergo’s Azure team and their ambition to cover every type of client requirement,” said Martina Naughton, global partner sales director of Microsoft Ireland. “This is their fifth Azure specialisation, an astonishing achievement for a Microsoft partner, anywhere in the world. We look forward to bringing this expertise to organisations to increase efficiencies and accelerate their digital transformation.”
