The Swiss process automation company Endress+Hauser has announced it is to establish an international SAP IT hub in Kill, Co. Kildare, that will create 20 new jobs over five years.

Endress+Hauser has a local sales and service centre in Kill, with a satellite office in Cork, both serving its domestic Irish client base, employing twenty-six people across the two operations. The company provides process automation products, solutions and services across pressure, level, flow, analytics and temperature functions. Its clients include manufacturers in packaging, energy, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water and wastewater and exploration industries, as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEM).

“We are proud that Ireland has been chosen as the location of this hub,” said Christophe Roche, general manager, Endress+Hauser Ireland. “The aim of the hub will be to support SAP users across Endress+Hauser in Ireland, and in 8 other countries across Europe to begin with. Our strong focus on innovation, R&D combined with the strong support from bodies such as the IDA makes Ireland the ideal place for such a hub. Choosing Ireland as the location for this hub also shows Endress+Hauser’s commitment to their operations in Ireland which will only grow in the future.”

The announcement was welcomed by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor TD, who said the decision to locate this new operation in Kill is a strong vote of confidence in Ireland, and the skills of the Irish workforce.

“We have developed extensive expertise in software development and financial management,” said Minister Mitchell O’Connor. “The decision to locate highly skilled positions in a town away from the main urban centres is very welcome and also reflects our enhanced communications infrastructure.  A key priority for the Government is to ensure that high technology companies like Endress + Hauser have the right business environment to develop and expand, thereby helping to ensure that the benefits of our economic recovery are well dispersed.”

“It is great news that Endress+Hauser is establishing this facility,” Martin Shanahan, CEO, IDA Ireland, “with an internationally focused remit alongside its existing operation, adding significant value to the Kill site, to County Kildare and the Mid-East region. I wish the company every success with this expansion.”
