Datapac has launched its new managed threat ops service, an addition expected to yield a 15% increase in the organisation’s annual managed services revenue for the year ahead.

The managed threat ops service provides a means for the average business to address the detection and response functions of their cybersecurity. Due to their nature, namely a reliance on both technology and a skilled team of experts to continuously monitor alerts and notifications from various security products, these functions have historically been underdeveloped in many organisations.

The service is expected to help organisations change the way they approach cybersecurity, allowing them to adopt a proactive mindset in a way that organisations have been unable to due to resource limitations.

A combination of human-led expertise and AI acceleration within the managed threat ops service enriches and strengthens the existing IT and security capabilities of organisations. This comprehensive approach not only enhances the overall security posture but also frees up critical resources for more strategic projects.

Karen O’Connor, general manager, Datapac, said: “As the technology landscape continues to evolve, we are seeing a rise in the scope and complexity of advanced cyberthreats which can target organisations of all sizes. Smaller organisations are being increasingly targeted due to the acceleration of the digital workplace, and they can no longer rely on their smaller size and relative obscurity as a shield to cyber criminals. By leveraging the power of industry-leading technology platforms, the new managed threat ops service aims to address this growing threat landscape and democratise fully managed cybersecurity.

“It can not only scale at pace with the evolving requirements of rapidly growing SMBs but can also support the unique requirements of enterprise-grade organisations. In the modern digital age, an organisation’s IT infrastructure is its beating heart, driving innovation and progress, and highly secure data is one of its most valuable assets. However, the ability to proactively detect and mitigate threats 24/7 represents an untapped layer of cyber defence for many organisations, and our aim is to address this gap with this new service.”
