Companies lay claims to top honours at Tech Excellence Awards

From start-ups to MNCs there is a place for everyone at the table this May

The Tech Excellence Awards return to the Royal Marine Hotel on 25 May 2023. In this snapshot of winners from 2022 we look at the companies – established and new – making waves in the industry.

Company of the year: Sidero Technology Solutions

Sidero Technology Solutions was founded in Athlone in 2013 and is home to one of Ireland’s most accredited and experienced teams of software engineers and cloud experts.

Employing more than 200 people, Sidero has built mission-critical software for some of the most successful Irish and global companies.

Its track record for delivering large-scale software development capacity is unparalleled, providing multiple teams of onshore developers, scrum masters, product owners and cloud architects to enterprises to help deliver on long-term, digital programmes.

Start-up of the year: JustTip

JustTip’s mission is To become the world’s fairest, equitable and most popular digital tipping platform across the hospitality, retail and not for profit sectors.

Integral to that mission is to provide a seamless, robust and scalable digital tipping solution which enables the staff member to earn gratuities direct from the customer and remove administration headaches for venue owners.

JustTip takes away the hassle of managing and distributing tips-Improves staff acquisition and retention.

Hibernia Award: Vodafone Ireland

The Hibernia Award recognises the long-term contribution of a multinational company towards the Irish technology sector. In 2022, the award went to Vodafone Ireland, in particular recognition of recently launched initiatives.

Through the Vodafone Ireland foundation launched a five-year dedicated digital skills learning programme for older people.

The company also announced its network was 100% powered by electricity from renewable sources.

Vodafone Ireland also announced new fertility and pregnancy policy which includes extended leave for pregnancy loss, fertility treatment and surrogacy.
