AWS opens applications for Imagine grant programme
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has opened the 2024 Imagine grant programme for applications from non-profits across Ireland to help them use cloud technology to achieve their mission. This is the first time the programme has been expanded to include registered charities based in Ireland. The award package includes up to $50,000 unrestricted funding, up to $16,000 in AWS Promotional Credits plus access to AWS technical support and marketing.
The ‘go further, faster’ award will provide support for highly innovative projects that leverage advanced cloud services, such as artificial intelligence/machine learning, high performance computing, Internet of things, and more. These projects will have the potential to produce scaleable, repeatable solutions and may impact an entire industry or field.
“The AWS Imagine grant programme in Ireland underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and driving positive change within the non-profit sector,” said Charlotte Jouffray, AWS non-profit account manager for Ireland. “We are providing unrestricted funding and resources, with the goal of empowering Irish non-profit organisations to use cloud technology to address some of the most pressing societal challenges faced by communities in Ireland and the world today.”
As part of the global grant programme, AWS seeks proposals for big ideas on how to leverage technology in new and innovative ways to accelerate impact in local and global communities.
Sylvester Murphy, CEO, Enclude said: “Enclude is delighted to collaborate with AWS on its Imagine grant pogramme in Ireland which will be a key driver of empowering the non-profit sector here to use technology and the cloud as a means of advancing their mission critical goals. At Enclude we help non-profit organisations to enhance their services through systematic and innovative use of technology and are committed to helping them make a positive impact in the communities they serve.”
Since the initiative’s launch in 2018, AWS has awarded more than $7 million in unrestricted funding, credits, and training support to 92 non-profit organisations in the USA and UK.
