Apple rushes to develop low-cost version of Vision Pro
Apple is reportedly working on a cheaper version of the Apple Vision Pro, which should arrive in late 2025, according to website The Information. At the same time, the publication says development work on the second-generation Vision Pro model has been suspended.
While it is unclear at what price Apple plans to sell the cheaper Apple Vision, it will almost certainly be under $3,500. Information suggests that Apple is aiming for a price around $1,500, similar to the price of a high-end iPhone.
Suspending a second more expensive model could indicate that the current Vision Pro is not selling great. The number of engineers working on the second-generation Vision Pro is also said to have decreased.
Last week, Apple announced the international availability of Apple Vision Pro along with the second generation of the visionOS operating system.
