Ulster Bank
For: iOS

Bank of Ireland is set to release its app at midnight tonight, but in the meantime Ulster Bank has snuck out its own piece of work for iOS.

Users can view mini statements consisting of the last six tranactions on account held by the user. YOu can also make payments, tranfser money between accounts, set up alerts to warn you when you’re living beyond your regular budget and set a regular time to receive statements. Lastly, a ‘Near Me’ geolocation feature identifies your closest ATM and branch.

Zombie Smash
For: Android

Another winner from casual games developer Zynga. Zombie Smash is a side scrolling survival comedy/horror where you swipe up the screen to get rid of the encroaching zombie hordes one beastie at a time. The graphics are surprisingly good and the ragdoll physics lets you throw around bad guys and have them flop about as you move them around the screen. Also a plus, there is an impressive amount of gore for what looks like a fairly inoffensive and cartoonish game.

Netflix
For: Windows Phone 7

There really isn’t an excuse for any smartphone owner not to link their Netflix account to their handset. Not a lot to be said as all the familiar functions are present as is a full catalogue to search through. As more busses and trains bring Wi-Fi on board as standard you’ll be glad you have this on board.
