An online portal showing the scale of the Irish tech sector was unveiled today at the Dublin Tech Summit.

The product of TechIreland and Dealroom, the portal gives comprehensive information about the tech ecosystem on the island. It also provides access to Dealroom’s global network of more than 100 tech ecosystems from Canada to Australia. This platform will be used to promote Irish start-ups among global investors and provide access to international data for benchmarking our regions and industries with global counterparts. It also includes a unique Innovation Island Services Portal supported by InterTradeIreland, featuring more than 350 professional services firms on the island, aimed at supporting cross-border services trade.

A survey of participants at last year’s Dublin Tech Summit revealed 650 ‘solid connections’ had developed, with Irish and Northern Irish business executives networking to explore potential business opportunities.

TechIreland is organising a series of networking events with the support of InterTradeIreland’s Synergy programme. Synergy is an InterTradeIreland initiative to elevate the participation of SMEs in innovative networks of entrepreneurs, academics, policy makers, corporates and third sector participants. The aim is to scale cross-border collaboration to deliver mutual economic benefit on both sides of the border.

John O’Dea, TechIreland chief executive, said: “The Irish startup ecosystem is growing across the island – there are real opportunities for tech companies to build their operations on both sides of the border.”

Brian Caulfield, Chair at TechIreland, added: “The Irish Ecosystem Portal will help support the tech community across the island. This comprehensive database of companies, investors, and tech hubs will help connect the entire Irish tech ecosystem and reveal exciting new business opportunities.”
