AIOps journey takes a sharp turn in 2023

TechBeat, Agile Networks look for the state-of-the-art in AI

If 2022 was the year IT departments spent getting ready for mass adoption of AI then 2023 had to be the year of mass rollouts, huge investment and rapid upskilling. Instead AI has continued to be something of a slow burn.

The applications are coming into place, ChatGPT has already taken its place as ‘the next Google’ and educators are spending more of their time looking for fake homework. Everyone seems to have a favourite application yet the same problems of too few resources, not enough expertise and indifferent management seem to be holding up what could be a truly transformative technology.

Last year TechBeat and Agile Networks looked at the future of network operations. This year they’re back looking in depth at the state-of-the-art for AIOps in 2023.

“Last year we saw a wide embracing of automation and AI in networking and a great optimism in the potential of data-driven workloads,” said TechCentral.ie editor Niall Kitson. “We also found that the vast majority of IT professionals did not consider AI a threat to their job. Since then we have code generated on command and the limits to ChatGPT seem to be limited only by what you know to ask it.

“Our TechBeat AI survey for 2023 in association with Agile Networks will give us a fascinating insight into how those attitudes have changed using questions that may or may not be generated by humans.”
