Bank of Ireland, Twitter join up for SMB training
Bank of Ireland is to provide educational content, marketing tips and best practice advice, developed in partnership with Twitter, to help SMEs grow online. The announcement was made at a social media workshop for 13 Irish SMEs as part of Bank of Ireland National Enterprise week, concluding tomorrow.
Speaking at the announcement, Gerry Prizeman, head of small business & agri, Bank of Ireland, said: “Bank of Ireland is committed to supporting Irish enterprise as the economic environment continues to improve – both by making credit available and by providing relevant supports to businesses to build momentum into 2014. Our partnership with Twitter… will enable us to provide small businesses with the expertise to make the most of Twitter as a marketing platform. Through the provision of free education and training, dedicated events and how-to guides.”
Barry Collins, director of SMB EMEA at Twitter, added: “Businesses around the world are using Twitter to connect with their customers and reach new ones. We are excited to be working with Bank of Ireland to help small and medium businesses in Ireland effectively market themselves on Twitter, using both our free platform and our newly launched self-service advertising products.”
Last week Twitter announced that it had opened self-service advertising where businesses in Ireland, Canada, UK and US pay to promote their accounts or purchase visibility on timeles through ‘promoted tweets’.
The service will be open to Bank of Ireland customers and non-customers alike.
